Track and Field maintains top-10 rankings

The Longhorns sit at No. 3 in the women’s top-25 and No. 6 in the men’s this week.
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Track and Field program continued to hold a pair of top-10 rankings this week in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) National Rating Index. The Texas women are ranked No. 3 while the UT men are slotted at No. 6 following both teams defeating Texas A&M in a dual meet at Mike A Myers Stadium on Saturday.
The third-ranked women posted five top-10 nationally ranked performances at Saturday's dual, bringing their total to 12 for the season. Kynnedy Flannel is the owner of two of those, boasting the No. 2 time in the 200-meter dash (22.55) and No. 8 time in the 100-meter dash (11.23). Stacey Ann Williams also clocked 51.24 in the 400-meter race, good for No. 2 in the early portion of the season.
Texas' men had two top-10 performances, bringing their tally to six for the season. Those first of those was a No. 3 time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by John Rice (8:49.32). The second was Texas' 4x100-meter relay team of O'Brien Wasome, Steffin McCarter, Caleb Hulbin and Micaiah Harris. The group clocked 39.08 in the quarter-mile relay, good for eighth-best nationally this year and the third-fastest time on Texas record.
