Baseball trio named D1Baseball Freshman All-Americans

Tanner Witt, Mitchell Daly and Aaron Nixon all recognized for their debut seasons.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball landed three players on the D1Baseball All-America team led by first team right-handed pitcher Tanner Witt, the organization announced Monday.
In addition to Witt, RHP Aaron Nixon and INF Mitchell Daly were named to the second team.
Witt produced a 5-0 record with a 3.16 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 57 innings pitched. Outside of the starting rotation, Witt logged the most innings and strikeouts on the pitching staff. Witt pitched twice in the College World Series, including tossing 5 2/3 shutout innings against Tennessee to secure a win.
Nixon finished with a 2.12 ERA and a 4-3 record with 35 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched. He pitched twice in the College World Series and four times total during the NCAA Postseason without allowing a run.
Daly finished second on the team with a .316 batting average and tied for the team lead with 66 hits. He drove in 31 runs and scored 35 to go along with 15 doubles and two homers.
