No. 1 Volleyball sweeps Oklahoma in Norman

The Longhorns completed the season sweep of the Sooners with a straight-set win on the road.
NORMAN, Okla. – No. 1 Texas Volleyball cruised to a 3-0 win over Oklahoma, 25-14, 25-19, 25-10, on Saturday night at McCasland Field House.
The Longhorns (19-1, 13-1) had a season-high 12 service aces, led by Keonilei Akana with a season-high five aces. Texas had a .355 hitting percentage in the match and held the Sooners to just a .125 hitting percentage.
Madisen Skinner and Logan Eggleston each had 13 kills to lead the Longhorns, while Skinner had 10 digs. Eggleston finished with a .400 hitting percentage and two digs.
Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres dished out 35 assists, had one kill, two aces and two digs.
In addition to Akana's five aces, she finished with 12 digs. Zoe Fleck led the Longhorns with 14 digs to go with four assists.
The Longhorns led wire-to-wire in the first set, hitting .519 and holding the Sooners to a .241 hitting percentage. Ka'aha'aina-Torres spread the ball around with four kills from Eggleston and Skinner and three kills from O'Neal and Caffey.
Texas grabbed a 2-0 lead in the match after rallying in the second set. The Longhorns trailed 15-14 before using a 7-1 run to go up 21-16. From there, Texas just had to close it out and used a 3-0 run to finish.
It was total dominance in the final set as Texas led the entire way and kept the Sooners off balance from the service line. Texas used an 8-0 run late in the set to take a 24-9 lead and close out the sweep.
The Longhorns return home next week to host Kansas on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Gregory Gym.
