Aaliyah Moore tied a career-high with 21 points in the game against the Cardinals.
PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas — Aaliyah Moore tied a career-high with 21 points and was one of three Texas players to score in double-figures, but the No. 3/5 Longhorns fell 71-63 against No. 6/4 Louisville on Sunday.
Moore led Texas (1-3) with 21 points and eight rebounds and took four charges in the game. Shaylee Gonzales tallied 11 points, three rebounds and three assists and Taylor Jones added 10 points. Jones added three blocks in the game.
The Longhorns will play Rutgers tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. CT in their final games in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament.
Game Notes
• Texas made a 7-0 run in the second quarter and closed to within one at 35-34 at halftime.
• After Louisville opened the second half with a 7-0 run the Longhorns responded with a 6-0 run. Taylor Jones had four of the six points for Texas.
• Texas made 16-of-18 (88.9 percent) from the free-throw line.
• The Longhorns scored 38 points in the paint and held a 38-28 advantage in that category.
