Harris wins Synchro 3m Bronze at USA Diving Winter Nationals

Freshman Nick Harris earned the first medal of the competition for the Longhorns.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Texas freshman diver Nick Harris won bronze in the men's synchronized 3-meter at the USA Diving Winter National Championships on Thursday at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.
Harris and diving partner Max Fowler scored 650.25 points to earn the third-place result. In sixth place following the third round of the final, Harris and Fowler scored 63.24 points on an inward 3 1/2 somersault tuck to move into third. They closed out the competition with a pair of 60-plus point dives to clinch the bronze.
The USA Diving Winter National Championships continue through Sunday, December 18. Friday marks the start of individual competition, with women's 1-meter and men's 3-meter preliminaries and finals on the schedule.
Hailey Hernandez, Bridget O'Neil and Jordan Skilken are slated to compete for the women, and Harris, Manuel Borowski, Noah Duperre, Andrew Harness and Brendan McCourt will be in action for the men.
Competition begins at 9 a.m. CT, with finals set to start at 3 p.m. CT.
