Longhorns Distance Set PBs in Boston

BOSTON, Mass. – The women of the Texas track and field distance squad set numerous personal-best times at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday night.
Freshman Amity Ebarb finished the 800m dash with a two-second personal-best time of 2:10.61 to finish within the top-25.
Both Valery Tobias and Alyssa Duhart also claimed personal-bests in the women's mile. Tobias pushed a time of 4:45.86 to win her heat, while Duhart's time 4:53.67 was 10 seconds faster than her previous best.
Freshman Aaliya Fazel opened her indoor season in the 3000m run and finished with a time of 10:04.65, 28 seconds faster than her former PB. Kelsie Vicknair finished close behind with a time of 10:07.10, shedding nearly 11 seconds off hers.
Isabel Hebner set a 33-second 5000m personal-best time at 16:38.98 seconds, while freshman Alexa Rodriguez closed in her race at 16:43.90, a 14-second PB. Monica Hebner cloed out the competition for the Longhorns in her first collegiate 5000m with Texas with a time of 17:10.65.
The men's distance squad will return to Boston on Saturday for the final day of competition.
