No. 2 Women’s Swimming and Diving sweeps day three of Big 12 Championships

Texas has won all 14 events through the first three days of the competition.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – No. 2 Texas Women's Swimming and Diving dominated the third day of the 2022 Big 12 Conference Championships, winning all seven events on Friday at The Aquatic Center. The Longhorns have won all 14 events through the first three days of competition.
Freshman Hailey Hernandez opened the evening for the Longhorns by winning the 3-meter springboard competition with a meet record 418.50 points. The victory was Hernandez's second of the week after winning yesterday's 1-meter contest.
Oliva Bray followed by winning her second consecutive conference title in the 100 fly, clocking 51.03 to best her own conference and meet records and give the sophomore the pool record.
In the 400 IM, junior Kelly Pash won her first conference title in the event, touching the wall at 4:07.56. It marked Pash's second championship of the week after winning the 200 IM yesterday.
Kyla Leibel defended her conference crown in the 200 free, posting a time of 1:46.28 to give the junior back-to-back victories in the event.
Anna Elendt continued her stellar season, winning the 100 breast with a program, conference, meet and pool record of 57.35. The junior is also the program record holder in the 200 breast.
Senior Julia Cook closed out the individual events with a victory in the 100 back, posting a time of 51.83 to win for the second year in a row.
Texas finished off the night with a dominant performance in the 200 free relay with sophomores Grace Cooper and Emma Sticklen, Pash and junior Bridget Semenuk clocking a season-best and A-cut time of 1:28.06 to win by more than three seconds.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Bridget O'Neil won silver on the 3-meter (401.50) for her second top-three performance of the week, while seniors Paola Pineda (372.50) and Morgan Menninger (342.20) took fourth and fifth, respectively, to give the Longhorns four of the top-five spots.
- In the 400 IM, senior Evie Pfeifer placed second with a time of 4:10.56, while freshmen Olivia McMurray (4:16.22) and Erica Sullivan (4:19.73) placed third and fourth, respectively.
- Junior Mary Smutny won bronze in the 200 free with a time of 1:47.68.
- Sticklen took second in the 100 back, touching the wall at 52.67.
