The Longhorns registered the second-most in program history and led the conference for the second-straight year, including six first-team selections.
Austin – No. 12 Men's Tennis posted seven honorees to the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Tennis Team, the conference announced Wednesday. That number is second only to last year's eight for most in program history, and it also led the conference for the second-straight year.
Of the seven, six earned first-team recognition, including junior Nevin Arimilli and sophomores Micah Braswell, Cleeve Harper, Evin McDonald, Eliot Spizzirri and Siem Woldeab, while junior Chih Chi Huang was named to the second team.
All of those players except Braswell made the team for at least the second-straight time with it being the third-straight for Arimilli, Harper and Huang. Braswell was a true freshman a year ago and was not eligible.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
