No. 1/1 Track Finish First Day at MJ Invite

WACO, Texas – No. 1/1 Texas track and field team began day one of the Michael Johnson Invitational with a handful of Longhorns in competition.
Kaeli Thompson finished second in the opening event of the day after clearing 3.92m (12-10.25) in the women's pole vault.
Sophia Falco later recorded a season-best jump of 5.89m (19-4) in her third meet of the season.
Leo Neugebauer recorded a top-10 finish in men's pole vault, clearing 4.91m (16-1.25). His multis teammate Demetri Whitsett added a throw of 35.99m (118-01) in the discus to close out the field events for Texas.
Kailei Collins competed in her third meet as a Longhorn and finished the 200m with a wind-aided time of 24.60, while Jon Maas returned to the track for the first time since the Texas Relays to run the 200m in 21.47w.
Olivia Buntin, Michelle Graham and Sophia Falco begin Saturday's action in the field events, while Milan Young is scheduled to run the 100m hurdles at 3:25 p.m.
