No. 16 Softball heads to the NCAA Seattle Regional

The Longhorns will open play against Big Sky Conference champion Weber State on Fri., May 20
AUSTIN, Texas – On Sunday night, according to an announcement on ESPN2's annual NCAA Selection Show, Texas softball (38-17-1) earned the program's 17th consecutive bid to the NCAA Tournament Field of 64 by receiving a berth in the NCAA Seattle Regional over May 20-22 to face Weber State (38-10), Lehigh (30-18-1) and No. 13 national seed and host school Washington (35-15).
This marks the first regional road trip for the Longhorns since also being sent out to Seattle for the 2018 NCAA Seattle Regional.
Texas opens its NCAA Tournament road against Big Sky Conference champion Weber State on Fri., May 20, at 4:30 p.m. CT live on Longhorn Network. Pac-12 stalwart and No. 13 national seed Washington will host Patriot League titlists Lehigh at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
Ticket info for the NCAA Seattle Regional will be posted to TexasSports.com as soon as it becomes available.
The winner of the Seattle Regional will advance on to face the winner of the Fayetteville Regional where No. 4 national seed Arkansas is hosting Oregon, Wichita State and Princeton.
Texas owns a 2-0 all-time record against Weber State with wins in Austin back on Feb. 28, 2016 (5-0) and Feb. 23, 2020 (9-4).
For UT, this marks the program's 22nd overall NCAA Regional appearance. The Longhorns are 45-29 all-time in NCAA Regional action and 61-45 in the NCAA Tournament play.
