Texas in the NCAA Championships: The No. 4 overall seed in the 2022 NCAA Championship, Texas is making its 37th NCAA Championship appearance in program history. The Longhorns have posted a 62-33 all-time record in NCAA Tournament play. Texas has captured NCAA team titles in 1993, 1995 and 2021 and posted NCAA runner-up finishes in 1992 and 2005.
Back in the Semifinals, Again: With their victory on Friday against No. 5 Virginia in the NCAA Quarterfinals, the Longhorns earned their ninth appearance in the NCAA Semifinals in program history. UT is making its second-straight appearance in the "Final Four" under head coach Howard Joffe. Texas has now earned trips to the "Final Four" in 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 2005, 2021 and 2022.
Looking for a Shot at the Title: Texas is seeking to claim its sixth appearance in the NCAA Championship match with a win over North Carolina on Saturday. The Longhorns have made five previous trips to the NCAA Championship match in program history (1992, 1993, 1995, 2005 and 2021).
Peaking at the Right Time: Texas enters Saturday's contest playing its best tennis of the season. The Longhorns have won 10 straight and 17 of their last 18 matches dating back to a 4-3 victory at then-No. 6 California on Feb. 27. Fourteen of those 17 victories have come against opponents who were nationally ranked, including 10 top-25 foes. Texas recorded back-to-back 4-0 sweeps against Ball State and No. 18 Michigan in the NCAA First and Second Rounds. The Longhorns added a 4-1 victory over No. 14 Auburn in the NCAA Round of 16 and a 4-2 win against No. 5 Virginia in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
