Three-time All-American and 2022 U.S. Open low amateur is among the top-25 rising seniors eligible for PGA TOUR University this season.
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas Men's Golf senior Travis Vick is tabbed No. 5 in the preseason Velocity Global Ranking for the PGA TOUR University Class of 2023. Vick is among the top-25 rising seniors eligible for PGA TOUR University this season.
In partnership with the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), PGA TOUR University ranks collegiate players based on their average performance in NCAA Division I men's team competitions, official PGA TOUR tournaments and select DP World Tour events. At the end of the college golf season, the top five finishers will earn membership on the Korn Ferry Tour while players finishing sixth through 15th will earn membership on PGA TOUR Canada or PGA TOUR Latinoamerica. This past June, graduating seniors Pierceson Coody and Cole Hammer both earned spots on the Korn Ferry Tour and Parker Coody claimed a spot on PGA TOUR Canada.
As a junior last year, Vick earned second-team All-America honors from both Golfweek and PING (GCAA). He posted a team-best 70.84 stroke average and registered three top-five, six top-10 and nine top-20 individual finishes in 12 stroke-play events during the 2021-22 season. Vick tallied a 2-1 mark in NCAA Match Play, including a 4&3 win over Reid Davenport of Vanderbilt in the semifinals and the clinching 1-up victory against Arizona State's Cameron Sisk in the final. Vick recorded a career-best second-place individual finish at the NCAA Norman Regional (May 16-18) at 10-under-par 206 (67-67-72). This summer, Vick earned low amateur honors at the U.S. Open and competed for Team USA at the Arnold Palmer Cup in Switzerland.
PGA TOUR University presented by Velocity Global rewards elite college players with access to Tours operated under the PGA TOUR umbrella, while upholding the principles and virtues of collegiate athletics. Introduced in 2020, the program strengthens and elevates the path to the PGA TOUR through the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA TOUR international tours.
