Cross Country Ready for Split Weekend of Competition

Longhorns cross country splits weekend competition during week 2.
AUSTIN, Texas – The men's and women's cross country programs are set to compete in their second race of the 2022 season in a split weekend between both programs.
The women are set to compete at the 2022 Bill Dellinger Invitational hosted by the University of Oregon at the Pine Ridge Golf Club on Fri., Sept. 21. 12 Longhorns will compete in the 6K scheduled for a 1:45 p.m. (CT) start time.
Beth Ramos leads the young squad after a dominating performance two weeks ago, winning the season-opener 5K at the Tornado Watch Invitational with her time of 18:00.8. Three Longhorns will also make their season debuts, including grad student Monica Hebner, senior Alyssa Duhart and junior Kelsie Vicknair.

For the men, Texas will travel to Big 12 rival Oklahoma State for one of the nation's oldest races in the Cowboy Jamboree and compete in the first 8K of the season. With weather being a factor, the men have moved the start time up to 8:30 a.m.
Haftu Knight, Cruz Gomez, Cole Lindhorst and Rodger Rivera will make their season debuts on one of the most challenging courses of the season, while Isaac Alonzo, the Tornado Watch Invitational Champion, will also represent the Longhorns along with eight others.
Saturday's race is the first time the Longhorns will compete on the course prior the NCAA Championships later in November.
