No. 1 Volleyball smashes No. 12 Stanford, 3-0

The Longhorns hit .365 in the match and rolled to a road sweep over a top-15 team.
STANFORD, Calif – No. 1 Texas Volleyball smashed No. 12 Stanford, 25-18, 25-18, 25-20, in front of a crowd of 4,059 at Maples Pavilion on Sunday afternoon.
The Longhorns (4-0) picked up their first road win over Stanford in program history after being 0-7 all-time at Maples Pavilion.
Texas hit .365 as a team and held the Cardinal to a .192 hitting percentage as a team. Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres had a great match in setting the Longhorns attack, with 43 assists, 11 digs, two kills and one block.
Logan Eggleston finished with a team-high 16 kills and added seven digs and three blocks. Madisen Skinner added 10 kills, while hitting .300.
Molly Phillips was dominant with 10 kills and a .556 hitting percentage, while Asjia O'Neal had nine kills and hit .438 with a team-high five total blocks.
Zoe Fleck finished with 10 digs, two assists and one service ace, while Emma Halter and Keonilei Akana each had five digs.
The Longhorns started the match well, hitting .457 and taking the first set 25-18. Eggleston had six kills and hit .500, while Skinner had four kills and a .500 hitting percentage.
Texas opened the second set a little slower before pulling away for another 25-18 win to take a 2-0 lead. Eggleston had six more kills in the set, while Bella Bergmark added two kills and two blocks.
The Longhorns jumped out to a huge lead in the third set and cruised to a 25-20 win to clinch the sweep.
Texas returns home to Gregory Gym to host UC Davis on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before welcoming Denver on Friday at 2 p.m.
