The Longhorns look to knock off the Sooners, keep unbeaten streaks alive
AUSTIN, Texas – Looking to continue its climb towards the top of the Big 12 Conference standings, The University of Texas women's soccer program will travel up to Oklahoma to play the Sooners at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday, Oct. 12.
Chad McKee (play by play) and Marissa McMahand (analyst) will serve as the television talent for the ESPN+ broadcast.
KICKING OFF
- Lexi Missimo will enter Thursday night's match need just five more goals to become the first Division I women's soccer student-athlete to reach the 40-goal, 40-assist mark for a collegiate career since Sam Coffery went for 42 goals and 54 assists after splitting time at Boston College (2017-18) and Penn State (2019-21).
- Missimo, in 57 career collegiate soccer matches played, has been credited for 47 assists and 35 goals.
- Kelly Wilson (2001-04) is the only Longhorn student-athlete to achieve the feat.
- She finished her career on the Forty Acres with 44 goals and 41 assists.
- Brittany Timko was the last Big 12 student-athlete to reach the career milestone when she totaled 41 goals and 42 assists during her career at Nebraska from 2003 to 2006.
- With her next goal, Lexi Missimo will break a tie with Trinity Byars' 2022 season total for the program's single-season goals record.
- The mark is the only UT single-season record not already broken by Missimo this season.
- Assists – broken in Texas' 2-1 win at Kansas on Sunday, Oct. 1
- Points – broken in Texas' 3-1 win at UCF on Thursday, Oct. 5
- Goals – currently tied for the program's single-season mark
- Missimo's next goal, her 18th on the season, will be the most by a Big 12 Conference student-athlete in a single season since Texas A&M's Kelly Monogue netted 19 throughout the 2011 campaign.
- The mark is the only UT single-season record not already broken by Missimo this season.
- With the program's next goal, the 2023 squad will have scored 50 goals on the season, the fifth most in the Longhorns' single-season history.
- It also mark the first time in program history Texas has recorded back-to-back 50-goal seasons.
- The program's single-season goals record is 57 set during the 2002 season.

- A win over Oklahoma on Thursday would mark the 20th all-time victory for Texas against the Sooners since the first-ever meeting on Sept. 26, 1997.
- Texas has only beaten Iowa State (26) and Kansas (20) more times than Oklahoma (19) during its program history.
- Overall, Texas has a 19-9-2 all-time record against Oklahoma.
- Texas has a 7-5-1 all-time record against Oklahoma in matches played in Norman. The Longhorns are unbeaten in their last three road matches in the series history and has not lost in Norman to the Sooners since Sept. 25, 2016, when Oklahoma won, 2-1, in overtime.
- UT has not lost in regulation to Oklahoma in Norman since dropping a 2-0 result on Sept. 25, 2005.
- The Longhorns will travel to Norman for Thursday night's match with an 11-0-3 mark over its last 14 regular season road matches, dating back to Aug. 19, 2021.
- Over the last 18 matches during the month of October, Texas is 15-0-3.
- Lexi Missimo will enter Thursday night's action as the first student-athlete in the Big 12 Conference to be credited with 50-or-more points in a single season since Ashlee Pistorius went for 59 (25 goals, nine assists) for Texas A&M during the 2007 campaign.
- With her next assist, Lexi Missimo will tie Jenny Benson (Nebraska, 1999) and Nikki Wojtowicz (Oklahoma State, 2003) for the second most assist in the Big 12's single-season history.
- Brittany Timko (Nebraska, 2005) holds the conference's single-season mark with 21.
