Scottie Scheffler wins Hero World Challenge

Former Longhorn earns his third PGA TOUR victory this year and seventh career TOUR win.
NASSAU, Bahamas — Former University of Texas star Scottie Scheffler posted a final-round 4-under-par 68 on Sunday to post a three-stroke victory at the Hero World Challenge at Albany Golf Club. The win marked the third PGA TOUR victory by Scheffler during the 2023 calendar year and the seventh overall in his career.
Scheffler registered a 72-hole score of 20-under-par 268 (69-66-65-68) to beat Sepp Straka (17-under-par 271) by three strokes. Scheffler played bogey-free golf on Sunday and did not let anyone get closer than two shots on the back nine.
Scheffler is one of 17 different former Longhorns to claim a win on the PGA TOUR. Those 17 individuals have now combined to capture 99 all-time PGA TOUR victories.
