No. 3 Men’s Swim and Dive opens Big 12 Championships with two relay victories

The Longhorns are in first place following the first day of competition at the championship meet.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 3 Texas Men's Swimming and Diving began the Big 12 Championships winning two of three events on Wednesday at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Texas started off the championship with a victory in the 200 medley relay, as Carson Foster, Will Chan, Caspar Corbeau and Daniel Krueger combine to clock 1:23.53, over two seconds ahead of runner-up TCU.
The Longhorns added a dominant victory in the 800 freestyle relay from Coby Carrozza, Luke Hobson, Jake Foster and Carson Foster, combining for a time of 6:10.64.
Noah Duperre opened the individual events scoring 401.30 points on the 1-meter springboard to place second.
The Big 12 Championships resume on Thursday with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m. Prelim and final sessions will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 800 free relay, the Texas B posted the second-fastest time on the day with Peter Larson, David Johnston, Spencer Aurnou-Rhees and Alec Enyeart combining for a time of 6:18.82.
- Texas has won 19 consecutive 200 medley relays and 24 overall at the Big 12 Championships.
- UT has won 26 of the 27 conference titles in the 800 free relay including each of the last 17.
