Texas knocked off Wisconsin to extend winning streak, but falls to Alabama in 11 innings
AUSTIN, TX – Following an emotional win over No. 13/9 Alabama Friday night, Texas returned to the softball diamond and split its two games on Saturday by beating Wisconsin, 7-4, and then falling to the Crimson Tide, 4-3, in an 11-inning marathon.
FROM HEAD COACH MIKE WHITE
"I thought it was a tough day, obviously. That 11-inning game right there could've gone either way. I thought we fought really well coming back from being down 3-0 against one of the top pitchers (Alabama's Montana Fouts) in the country. We had opportunities to win that game — I think two or three times — but we just couldn't get it done, so I'm really hoping we learned more than we lost today."
FROM FRESHMAN VIVIANA MARTINEZ
"In order to bounce back tomorrow (against Texas State), we just have to start out strong and stay strong throughout the game."
