The Longhorns picked up the first win in program history, defeating the Bears 3-2.
FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas Beach Volleyball picked up the first win in program history, defeating Missouri State 3-2 on Friday afternoon at TCU.
The Longhorns trailed 2-0 in the match after dropping the fourth and fifth flights, with Bella Bergmark and Reilly Heinrich coming up just short at the No. 4 position.
Texas stormed back though, with Keonilei Akana and Devin Kahahawai winning 21-18, 21-18 on fligth two before Jenna Wenaas and Marina Crownover won 21-19, 21-15 for their first win as a pair.
With the match tied 2-2, attention turned to the No.1 flight and Molly Phillips and Madisen Skinner clinched the win for the Longhorns, 26-24, 21-13.
Texas will continue its trip to Fort Worth on Saturday, taking on No. 6 Grand Canyon at 9 a.m. and No. 1 TCU at 5 p.m.
