Adeleke rejoins Alfred on the watch list for second time in her career.
AUSTIN, Texas –Rhasidat Adeleke and Julien Alfred of the No. 1 Texas women's track and field team were both named to The Bowerman watch list for the month of April.
The Bowerman is presented annually by the USTFCCCA to the most outstanding male and female NCAA track & field athletes in the nation. Wednesday's list is the fourth regular season release of the Watch List.
Alfred has remained on the Watch List for all four updates, including the preseason Watch List. Alfred has added three collegiate records with her name on it – the 4x100, 4x200 and the sprint medley relay, all which Adeleke is on. The 11-time All American recently opened her individual event outdoor season winning both the 100-meter and the 200-meter at the Tom Jones Memorial.
Alfred won the 200-meter with the world-leading time of 21.91, breaking the Texas program record along the way. She closed her weekend with a wind-aided time of 10.72 in the 10—meter dash to give her the fastest all-conditions time in collegiate history.
Adeleke joins the watch list for the second time in both her career and season. She was previously named to the first March list. Along with her collegiate records, Adeleke ran the 400-meter dash in 49.90, the third-fastest time in Texas history behind the lone Texas Bowerman winner Courtney Okolo and Sanya Richards-Ross. Adeleke is just the eight collegian to break the 50-second barrier and holds the sixth fastest time in collegiate history.
