No. 8 Women’s Golf in eighth place going into final round of Big 12 Championship

DALLAS — The No. 8 University of Texas women's golf team made 13 birdies and shot eight shots better than their opening round in the second round of the Big 12 Championship on Saturday at the Dallas Athletic Club.
Sophie Guo shot one-under par on her front nine and made three birdies on the back nine on the way to an even-par 72 in the second round of the tournament.
Bentley Cotton made three birdies and was two-under par through 13 holes before finishing with a one-over par 73.
Angela Heo made three birdies and carded a second round two-over-par 74.
The Longhorns shot 10-over par 298 in the second round and are 28-over par for the tournament and in eighth place. No. 23 Oklahoma State leads the tournament at four-under- par and Texas Tech (-2) and No. 13 Baylor (+1) round out the top three places.
The Longhorns will be paired with Kansas and Kansas State in the final round and tee off from the first hole starting at 8:00 a.m. central time on Sunday.
The Lineup
• Bentley Cotton made three birdies in her round, the third on the par 5, 13th hole to get to two-under par for the round. Cotton is T25 on the individual leaderboard.
• Sophie Guo made four birdies, including three on the back nine to shoot even-par 72, the best round of the day for the Longhorns. For the second straight day Guo made birdie on the 18th hole.
• Bohyun Park carded one birdie in the second round with finished with a seven-over-par 79.
• Angela Heo had a solid bounce back from her first round with three birdies and a two-over-par 74.
• Cindy Hsu made two birdies in the second round and shot a seven-over-par 79.
