For the first time since the 2021 season, Texas to host NCAA Regional as the No. 13 seed
AUSTIN, TX – As a result of its overall body of work throughout the 2023 regular season as well as the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championships last week, The University of Texas' softball program has been selected as the No. 13 overall seed for the upcoming NCAA Division I Softball Championship. The selection marks the 18th consecutive bid to the NCAA Tournament Field of 64 for the program.
Additionally, Texas, currently 10th in the latest USA Today/NFCA Coaches and 7th in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball polls with a 42-13-1 record, was selected as one of the 16 NCAA Regional sites. The Longhorns will host the Big East champions Seton Hall (42-16) in addition to at-large selections Texas A&M (33-19) out of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and Texas State (34-23-1) out of the Sun Belt Conference.
