Network info for the Longhorns’ matchups this fall have been set; game at Alabama will kick off at 6 p.m. CT.
AUSTIN, Texas – Kickoff time and television selection for Texas Football's 2023 matchup against Alabama was announced on Tuesday, along with the television selection for the game against Oklahoma.
Texas' week two contest at Alabama on Saturday, Sept. 9 will air on ESPN and kickoff inside Bryant–Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala. at 6 p.m. CT. The Longhorns game versus Oklahoma is slated to air from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on ABC on Saturday, Oct. 7, with the kickoff time still to be determined.
The Longhorns will square off with Alabama in Tuscaloosa for only the second time ever and the first time since 1902. It is the second part of a much-anticipated home-and-home series of the two traditional powers. Texas won the game in 1902, which was also the first ever in the series, and holds a 7-2-1 all-time advantage. Last year's game was a closely contested matchup with No. 1-ranked Alabama edging out the Longhorns in the final seconds, 20-19.
Texas will meet Oklahoma for the 119th time with Texas holding a 63-50-5 mark in the series. Texas was victorious in last season's meeting, shutting out Oklahoma, 49-0, the Longhorns' most lopsided win over the Sooners. The series, which began in 1900, has been played in Dallas since 1912 and at the State Fair since 1929.
