Hernandez, O’Neil advance to 3-meter final at USA Diving Nationals

Hailey Hernandez and Bridget O’Neil will compete for the national championship on Wednesday.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va – Texas divers Hailey Hernandez and Bridget O'Neil qualified for the 3-meter final at the USA Diving National Championships on Monday at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park. Hernandez finished second and O'Neil fourth in the semifinal round to reach Wednesday's final.
Hernandez scored 314.00 points to place second in the semis, while O'Neil sits just outside the top-three with 284.20 points. Points scored in the semifinal round carry over to the final with the top-two finishers earning spots on the USA roster for the World Aquatics Championships this summer. Hernandez is currently 8.75 points behind the leader, Sarah Bacon.
The Longhorns will be back in action at the USA Diving National Championships on Tuesday. Nick Harris and Noah Duperre will be diving in the men's 3-meter final beginning at 11:00 a.m. CT, while Jordan Skilken and Janie Boyle will compete in the women's platform final at 12:45 p.m. CT.
