Majors, a fourth-year offensive lineman from Prosper, Texas, has appeared in 28 games with 27 starts during his career, including 27 consecutive starts at center. In 2022, Majors led an offensive line that helped Texas average 34.5 points per game, the 17th-highest scoring average among Power 5 programs, and 429.5 yards per game, the 23rd-best mark among Power 5 teams. Additionally, Majors blocked for unanimous All-American and Doak Walker Award-winning running back Bijan Robinson, who in 2022 rushed for 1,580 yards on 258 carries (6.1ypc) and 18 touchdowns, and quarterback Quinn Ewers, who passed for 2,177 passing yards, the fifth-most for a Texas freshman, and 15 touchdowns, the fourth-most in a season for a Longhorn freshman.
The Rimington Trophy Committee uses the Walter Camp Foundation, Sporting News and Football Writers Association of America All-America teams to determine the award winner. The center with the most first-team votes on the three All-America teams will be determined the winner. If there is a tie, the center with the most second-team votes will win.
