No. 7 Volleyball’s O’Neal named Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Week

The Longhorns’ senior leader returned to the court and helped Texas to a win over Minnesota.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 7 Texas Volleyball's Asjia O'Neal has been named the Big 12 Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
O'Neal made her first appearance of the season and guided Texas to a road victory against then-No. 5 Minnesota. The native of Southlake, Texas finished with a team-high eight blocks and added seven kills in the win over the Golden Gophers.
She finished with 11 kills with a .385 hitting percentage to go with nine total blocks during the week. This is the three-time First Team All-Big 12 member's third Defensive Player of the Week award and her fourth overall weekly league recognition.
The Longhorns continue their homestand at Gregory Gym by hosting Florida Gulf Coast on Friday at 5 p.m. and Rice on Monday at 6 p.m.
