The Longhorns set seven pool records in Raleigh.
RALEIGH, N.C. – No. 2 Texas Women's Swimming & Diving topped No. 10 NC State, 130-68, at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center on Friday evening. The Longhorns had the top result 10 of 11 events and set seven pool records in the victory.
Bridget O'Neil opened the meet for the Longhorns by sweeping the springboards, winning the 1-meter with 342.98 points and the 3-meter with 354.23.
Texas kicked off the swim events with Emma Kern, Lydia Jacoby, Olivia Bray and Ava Longi establishing the first pool record of the night with a victory in the 200 medley relay in 1:34.24.
Kelly Pash followed with the first of her two pool records on the night, taking the 200 free in 1:42.88 before setting the pool-best in the 200 IM later in the night with a swim of 1:54.47.
Texas added pool records with Emma Sticklen's victory in the 100 fly, touching the wall in 50.39, and Anna Elendt's win in the 100 breast of 57.51 that is the number-three time in the NCAA this season.
Erin Gemmell added a win in the 500 free with a swim of 4:40.40.
UT added pool records with a pair of relay victories, as Grace Cooper, Stiklen, Longi and Emma Davidson combined for a 200 free relay of 1:27.65 and Pash, Longi, Davidson and Gemmell posted as 400 free relay time of 3:12.22.
Team Notes
- Texas took four of the top-five spots on 1-meter as Jordan Skilken (301.05), Amanda Stalfort (295.88) and Sarah Carruthers (285.98) claimed the third through fifth spots behind the winner, O'Neil.
- Led by O'Neil, UT swept the top four spots on 3-meter with Skilken taking second (350.55), Carruthers third (332.33) and Stalfort fourth (313.43).
- Gemmell collected a second-place finish in the 200 free with a swim of 1:43.52 and Angie Coe took fourth with a swim of 1:46.28.
- Bray tallied a second-place result in the 100 fly, touching the wall in 50.90 and Campbell Stoll placed fourth with a season-best 52.69.
- Texas swept the 100 breast, with Elendt (57.51), Jacoby (58.15) and Channing Hanley (1:00.36) going 1-2-3. Jacoby's time is the fifth-fastest in the NCAA this season.
- Erica Sullivan earned a runner-up result in the 500 free in 4:42.25
- Coe took second in the 200 IM with a swim of 1:56.24 and Alicia Wilson earned a fourth-place result in 1:57.48.
- The Horns took second and third in the 100 back with Bray touching the wall in 52.12 and Kern posting a season-best 52.17.
