MEET NOTES
- Texas kicks of the two-meet trip on Friday when they face off with NC State for the third-straight year. It will be the fourth head-to-head contest during that span with the Longhorns earning a victory in Raleigh in 2022 and sweeping a pair of meets in Austin last season. At the 2023 NCAA Championships, NC State placed fifth with 263 points with the Pack collecting national runner-up finishes in the 100 back, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.
- The Longhorns travel to Durham on Saturday to face Duke for the first-ever dual meet between the two programs. Duke finished 21st at the 2023 national meet with 42 points scored.
- This weekend's dual meets will be the first for the Longhorns since Nov. 3, when the Longhorns swept No. 25 Texas A&M and Georgia Tech in College Station. The Horns defeated the Aggies by a score of 148-144 and the Yellowjackets, 186.5-74.5.
- Texas is one of three programs, along with Florida and USC, to have qualified all five relay squads for the NCAA Championship meet.

Team Rankings
The Longhorns are ranked second in the latest College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) Division I poll (January 24), trailing only Virginia. The top 10 includes Virginia (375), TEXAS (360), Florida (345), Stanford (324), California (311), Ohio State (292), Southern California (286), Louisville (282), Indiana (252) and NC State (247).
Storied Program
Texas finished as the runner-up at the 2022 and 2023 national meets after placing third in 2021. Overall, Texas has claimed a total of nine national titles in its proud history. The Longhorns won AIAW national championships in 1981 and 1982. UT added NCAA team titles in 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1990 and 1991.
Conference Dominance
The Longhorns have captured 11 consecutive Big 12 Conference crowns (2013-23) and 21 overall Big 12 team titles. UT has won a total of 35 conference championships (14 Southwest Conference, 21 Big 12 Conference).
Head Coach Carol Capitani
Carol Capitani is in her 12th season at the helm of the Texas program. She has led the Longhorns to 11-straight Big 12 Conference crowns (2013-23) and top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships in nine of the last 10 meets held. Capitani has guided UT to back-to-back national runner-up finishes and placed among the top three each of the last three seasons. The stretch of three consecutive top-three results is the longest for Texas since 1993-95, and the back-to-back top-two finishes is the best stretch since 1991-92.
