No. 7 Volleyball sweeps Arkansas for Elliott’s 600th win at Texas

The Longhorns swept the Razorbacks as head coach Jerritt Elliott picked up his 600th win at Texas.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 7 Texas Volleyball swept Arkansas, 25-20, 25-17, 25-22, as head coach Jerritt Elliott picked up his 600th win at Texas in front of a crowd of 4,648 at Gregory Gymnasium on Friday.
The Longhorns (11-3, 6-0) picked up their eighth-consecutive win and their fifth-straight sweep.
Madisen Skinner led the way with 15 kills, hitting .310, and adding four digs and two blocks. Devin Kahahawai continued her breakout season, finishing with 13 kills and a .500 hitting percentage with three aces and three blocks.
The Longhorns started well, winning the first set 25-20, while hitting .357 in the set. Texas was dominant from the service line and at the net during the first set, with three service aces and four blocks. Skinner led the way with four kills on just five swings, while Wenaas had three kills on four attacks.
Texas didn't let up in the second set with a 25-17 win and the team hit .484 in the set. Skinner continued her great match with six kills during the second set.
Arkansas put up a good fight in the third set, holding a 21-20 lead late. The Longhorns never panicked though and finished the set on a 5-1 run to complete the sweep with a 25-22 win.
Texas continues its five-match homestand against Georgia on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Gregory Gym.
