Men’s Tennis to play for ITA Texas Regionals singles and doubles titles

Junior Jonah Braswell and freshman Timo Legout will square off for the singles championship, while the duo of Legout and sophomore Lucas Brown will play for it in doubles.
Waco, Texas – Texas Men's Tennis junior Jonah Braswell and freshman Timo Legout will face each other for the singles title of the ITA Texas Regional Championships, while Legout and sophomore Lucas Brown will combine to play for the doubles title, on Monday at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco.
With Braswell squaring off against Legout, a Longhorn is assured of winning the tournament's singles title for the second-straight year after Micah Braswell claimed it last season.
On Monday, Jonah Braswell punched his ticket to the final by taking down the top seed No. 17 JC Roddick of Texas A&M, 6-1, 6-4, while Legout advanced by defeating 4 seed No. 49 Zsombor Velcz of Baylor, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0. Braswell and Legout will play for the title at 12 p.m. CT tomorrow.
In doubles, Legout and Brown topped 9-16 seed Tiago Torres and Miguel Alonso of UTSA, 6-4, 6-1, and will next face 9-16 seed Luc Koenig and Imran Daniel Abdul Hazli of Baylor at 10 a.m. CT tomorrow.
