No. 13 Volleyball’s Ames named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week

The Longhorns’ first year middle blocker had a big offensive week and posted a career-high 11 kills in the win over Ole Miss.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 13 Texas Volleyball's Ayden Ames has been named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Ames had a big offensive week and was part of one of the most efficient matches in Texas Volleyball history, as the team hit .554 in the sweep of Tennessee. In the win over the Vols, Ames finished with nine kills on just 13 swings for a .692 hitting percentage.
The Prosper, Texas product then posted a career-high 11 kills and added five blocks in the thrilling five-set win over Ole Miss in the regular season finale.
The Longhorns will head into the postseason this week, hosting NCAA First and Second rounds to face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
