Harmon reaches 1,000 career points in the victory.
HARRISONBURG, Va. — Rori Harmon passed 1,000 career points and freshman Jordan Lee made six 3-pointers as the Texas women's basketball team won 93-62 on the road at James Madison on Sunday.
Madison Booker led the Longhorns with 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Harmon scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Jordan Lee scored 20 points on 7-of-9 from the field.
The Longhorns started the game hitting five of their first six shots and jumped out to an 11-0 lead on a jumper by Booker.
Harmon's jumper at the 5:50 mark of the first quarter put Texas up 15-6 and put Harmon past 1,000 career points. Harmon scored 12 points in the first quarter including her second 3-pointer to put Texas up 29-16 at the 1:54 mark of the opening quarter.
Jordan Lee scored 11 straight points for Texas to open the second quarter including three 3-pointers the last of which put Texas up 42-23 and forced JMU to call timeout. Lee scored 17 points in the second quarter with five 3-pointers and Texas outscored JMU 27-9 in the second period.
Justice Carlton knocked down a 3-pointer for the Longhorns that put Texas up 81-47 at the 6:43 mark of the fourth quarter.
Up next the Longhorns return home to host Southern on Wednesday Dec. 11 with a tipoff at 7:00 p.m. CT.
