Foster, Johnston finish in 400m IM top-five at World Aquatics Championships

Former Longhorns Carson Foster and David Johnston earned top-five results in the men’s 400m medley, while incoming Longhorn Piper Enge took sixth in the women’s 50m breaststroke.
DOHA, Qatar – A trio of former and future Longhorns competed in event finals on the final day of competition at the World Aquatics Championships inside the Aspire Dome on Sunday. Former Longhorns Carson Foster and David Johnston placed in the top-five of the men's 400-meter medley, while future Longhorn Piper Enge finished sixth in the women's 50-meter breaststroke.
Foster and Johnston both represented the United States in the 400m medley final with Foster taking fourth in 4:12.62 and Johnston tying for fifth with a swim of 4:13.05. Johnston earned his spot in the final after clocking a personal-best 4:12.51 during his semifinal for the fastest qualifying time in the morning swim.
Also swimming for USA Swimming was Enge, who posted a 50m breast time of 30.69 for the sixth-place result. The 17-year-old from Mercer Island, Wash. reached the final after recording a career-best 30.53 during the semifinals.
