No. 7 Women’s Golf tied for eighth place after day one of PING/ASU Invitational

PHOENIX, Ariz. — The No. 7 Texas women's golf team is tied for eighth place after the opening round of the PING/ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Course.
The Longhorns shot an even-par 288 on day one of the tournament. Host Arizona State shot the best round of the day at seven-under-par 281. Stanford is second at five-under-par and UCLA and Northwestern are tied for third at four-under-par.
Texas was led on the day by sophomore Cindy Hsu who carded a round of one-under-par 71.
Texas will start round two at 10:00 AM CT and will be paired with Denver and Oregon State.
The Lineup
Cindy Hsu is T18 on the individual leaderboard after her one-under-par 71. Hsu made four birdies on her scorecard in the opening 18 holes.
Farah O'Keefe is T28 after an even par 72 for her round. O'Keefe has now shot par or better in 14 of her 16 stroke play rounds this season.
Lauren Kim carded an even-par 72 and is T28 on the individual leaderboard. Kim made two birdies on her round.
Bentley Cotton shot a one-over 73 opening round of the tournament with two birdies on her scorecard.
Angela Heo opened the tournament with a four over-par 76 with one birdie on her scorecard.
Tiffany Cao playing as an individual in the tournament carded a one-under-par 71. Cao made five birdies in her round.
