No. 7 Women’s Golf tied for seventh place after day one of Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The No. 7 Texas women's golf team is tied for seventh place after an even-par round on day one of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Monday. The tournament features eight teams ranked in the top 12 of the 17 teams in the field.
Texas shot an even-par round of 284 and are tied with three other teams. Arizona State shot the best opening round of the field at six-under-par 278 and Duke and Northwestern each shot rounds of three-under-par 281.
The Longhorns got off to a solid start and had 11 birdies combined over their first nine holes of play. Freshman Lauren Kim made the turn at three-under-par and finished her round with a two-under-par 69 and is T7 on the player leaderboard. Cindy Hsu carded a one-under-par 70 with five birdies and is T15 on the individual leaderboard.
Texas will tee off in round two at 10:00 a.m. central time and be paired with Duke and Mississippi State.
The Lineup
Lauren Kim carded her ninth round of par or better out of 10 rounds this season with her two-under-par 69. Kim made five birdies on her scorecard on day one.
Cindy Hsu carded 35 on each nine to shoot a one-under-par 70. Hsu made five birdies for her round.
Farah O'Keefe carded an even-par 70 for her first round. O'Keefe now has rounds of par or better in 11 of her 13 stroke play rounds this season. O'Keefe made three birdies and is T21 on the individual leaderboard.
Bohyun Park made three birdies for her first round and shot a three-over-par 74.
Selina Liao playing in her second collegiate event shot a three-over-par 74 with two birdies on her scorecard.
