No. 8 Women’s Golf advances to final round of stroke play at NCAA Championship

Longhorns finish 54 holes in the top 15 to advance to final round of stroke play.
CARLSBAD, Calif. — On a day with challenging conditions, the No. 8 Texas Women's Golf team ended the day in 14th place to advance to the final round of stroke play on Sunday at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
Texas shot 14-over in the third round and are at 23-over-par for the championship.
Lauren Kim made two birdies in her first three holes and the Longhorns had four birdies as a team through three holes to get off to a solid start.
Angela Heo made the turn at 1-under and finished her round with a team-leading 2-over 74 with three birdies in her round. Cindy Hsu birdied the 17th hole and carded a third round score of 3-over 75 and Selina Liao chipped in for birdie on the 18th hole.
The Longhorns will tee off hole one on Monday at 12:30 p.m. CT and will be paired with Mississippi State and Florida State.
Monday will be a final round of stroke play before a cut to the top eight teams for the match play portion of the championship.

The Lineup
Farah O'Keefe made three birdies on her card in round three and finished the round with a 5-over 77. O'Keefe is T27 on the individual leaderboard after 54 holes.
Lauren Kim carded a round of 4-over 76. Kim made back-to-back birdies on holes two and three to get her round started.
Angela Heo had the best round of the day for Texas with her 2-over 74. Heo made three birdies for her round.
Cindy Hsu made two birdies on her third round scorecard and finished with a 3-over-par 75.
Selina Liao provided one of the highlights of the day when she chipped in for birdie on the 18th hole in her third round. Liao carded a 5-over 77 for her round.
