Former Longhorn Jake Foster places seventh in 200 breast final.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Former University of Texas star Will Licon finished fourth and former Longhorn Jake Foster placed seventh in the 200-meter breaststroke final on Wednesday evening at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming inside Lucas Oil Stadium.
The top finisher in the individual swimming events at the U.S. Olympic Trials earns an automatic spot on the official Team USA roster, while the runner-up is considered a near lock to make the team as well.
Matthew Fallong (2:06.54) and Josh Matheny (2:08.86) claimed the top two spots in the 200 breast final. Licon placed fourth in a time of 2:09.38, just missing a spot in Paris by 0.52 seconds. Foster finished in seventh with a mark of 2:09.64.
