No. 4 Women’s Golf finish tied for fourth place at Folds of Honor Collegiate

Lauren Kim leads Texas with 1-under par and fifth place on the individual leaderboard.
GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — The No. 4 Texas Women's Golf team finished tied for fourth place at the Folds of Honor Collegiate on Wednesday at American Dunes Golf Club.
The Longhorns shot rounds of 291-300-292=883 (+19) for the tournament. Arizona won the event with a score of 4-over, Florida State came in second at 7-over and Ohio State was third at 16-over par.
Sophomore Lauren Kim was one of five players in the field to shoot under-par for the tournament and finished in fifth place for her third collegiate top-five finish. Kim carded rounds of 67-77-71=215 (-1). Mirabel Ting of Florida State won the event with a 6-under-par score. Kim was two shots back of finishing in the top three.
Junior Cindy Hsu played a consistent tournament with rounds of 73-74-73=220 (+4). Hsu finished T11 on the leaderboard.
"The Longhorns finish this week was disappointing and I firmly believe that we are a better team than how we played," Texas head coach Laura Ianello said. "I'm very proud of Lauren Kim who led the way with a top-five finish, followed by a steady performance from Cindy Hsu. This next week we will focus on capitalizing on more birdie opportunities and working on our proximity to the hole with our wedges. I'm confident that this team will come back stronger and we have a long season ahead. Coach Braden and I are very excited to coach this team and we know big things are ahead."
The Longhorns are back in action next week as they travel to Franklin, Tenn., Sept. 20-22 for the Mason Rudolph Championship hosted by Vanderbilt.
The Lineup
Sophomore Lauren Kim posted her third top-five collegiate finish with a fifth place finish at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. Kim finished strong with two birdies on her back nine holes in the final round and carded rounds under par in two of her three rounds.
Junior Cindy Hsu made three birdies in her final round and carded a score of 1-over 73 in the final rounds of the tournament. Hsu finished the final round with a birdie on 18.
Sophomore Farah O'Keefe finished T26 with a tournament score of 9-over-par.
Junior Angela Heo carded a round of 75 in the final round and finished T29 at 10-over.
Sophomore Selina Liao shot her best round on the final day of the tournament with a 1-over 73. Liao made four birdies on the back nine in her final round and was 2-under on the nine holes. Liao finished T37 on the leaderboard.
