No. 2/3 Football's aerial attack leads to 56-7 victory over UTSA

Longhorns account for 614 yards of total offense with 427 coming through the air.
AUSTIN, Texas — In front of a raucous crowd of 101,892 at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium Arch Manning accounted for five touchdowns to ignite Texas to a 56-7 victory over UTSA on Saturday.
Manning completed 9-of-12 passes for 223 yards and four passing touchdowns. Manning added a 67-yard touchdown run. The five touchdowns accounted for are the most for a freshman since Colt McCoy against Baylor in 2006.
The Texas offense got things going with an 8-play, 84-yard scoring drive capped off by a Quinn Ewers touchdown pass to Isaiah Bond.
After forcing a turnover on downs in their own territory, Ewers took the Longhorns on a 12-play, 69-yard drive and a 19-yard strike to Johntay Cook II to put Texas up 14-0. Ewers passed Vince Young on the Longhorns all-time touchdown list into sixth place with his 45th career touchdown.
Arch Manning entered the game early in the second quarter and on his first pass attempt connected with DeAndre Moore Jr. for a 19-yard touchdown. On the first play of his second drive, Manning put the moves on the UTSA defense for a 67-yard rushing touchdown.
Manning completed a pair of 50-plus touchdown passes to open the third quarter with a 51-yard pass to Bond and 75-yard strike to Ryan Wingo. Both drives took under two minutes combined and put Texas up 42-7. The Longhorns defense held UTSA scoreless in the third period.
The defense had the last highlight of the game as Ethan Burke intercepted UTSA quarterback Eddie Lee Marburger for a 30-yard touchdown. The Longhorn defense held the Roadrunners scoreless in the second half.

Texas will look to extend its winning streak to four consecutive games when the Longhorns take on ULM at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.
