No. 1 Volleyball’s Wenaas and Halter earn SEC weekly honors

A pair of Longhorns picked up weekly SEC honors in the opening weekend.
MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – No. 1 Texas Volleyball's Jenna Wenaas was named the SEC Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week, while Emma Halter earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Wenaas led the Longhorns to a 3-1 win over No. 3 Wisconsin with a team-high 18 kills and her first double-double of the season with 10 digs. The 10 digs were the most she has had as Texas player and it was her first double-double as a Longhorn.
Halter posted a career-high 28 digs in the win over the Badgers and added five assists and one service ace. The Longhorns' libero previously had one of the best matches of her career against Wisconsin in last year's NCAA Semifinal with 19 digs.
The Longhorns will wrap up play in the State Farm Women's Volleyball Showcase against Minnesota at Fiserv Forum on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
