Texas Longhorns to play four of five games at Red & Charline McCombs Field
AUSTIN, Texas – On the heels of its run to the championship series of the Women's College World Series just three months ago, The University of Texas softball head coach Mike White and the Longhorn program have announced its five-game fall slate that will begin on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Texas will open its quintet of fall exhibition games by hosting a three-game, round-robin tournament that will also feature St. Edwards University and McLennan Community College on Saturday, Oct. 5. The Longhorns will begin the day by playing the Hilltoppers at 10:00 a.m., before facing off against McLennan at 12:30 p.m. St. Edwards and McLennan will play each other as well to round out the three-game schedule.
The following week, the Longhorns will welcome Texas State for a Thursday night contest on Oct. 10 with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. Eight days later, Texas will travel to College Station to play Texas A&M at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18. A week later, UT will conclude its fall schedule against Our Lady of the Lake at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25.
Admission to all four fall softball games at Red & Charline McCombs Field is free.
Texas returns 16 student-athletes from a 2024 squad that was ranked as the nation's top team for most of the regular season en route to earning the No. 1 overall seed for the 2024 NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. The Longhorns welcome three newcomers — Kaydee Bennett (Abilene Christian University), Shylien Brister (Clear Brook HS) and Cambria Salmon (Beaumont HS) — to this season's team as well.
