No. 2 Volleyball downs Alabama, 3-1, on the road

Four Longhorns record double-digit kills in the win at Alabama to improve to 14-0 on the season.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 2 Texas Volleyball team remained undefeated in SEC road play after two seasons with a 3-1 (20-15, 25-16, 25-23, 25-18) win over Alabama. The Longhorns improved to 14-0 and 6-0 in conference play behind double-digit kills from four different players.
Torrey Stafford led the match with 17 kills, while Abby Vander Wal finished with 13, Ayden Ames 11 and Cari Spears with 10. Ella Swindle distributed 32 assists and two kills of her own. It's the first time Texas had four players with double-digit kills since the five-set win over No. 6 Stanford on Sept. 7.
Set One: Texas dropped just its third first set of the season 25-20 and was limited to just seven kills. Alabama capitalized on six Texas service errors and finished with 11 kills and hit just .185.
Set Two: The Longhorns rallied in the second with an impressive .385 attack percentage behind Stafford's six kills. Texas finished with 17 kills and four blocks, holding Alabama to 10 kills and a .095 attack percentage. The Longhorns took eight of the final 10 points in the set.
Set Three: Alabama got off to a 4-0 run, but the Longhorns rallied to take their first lead of the match. Texas hit .366 for 19 kills behind Stafford and Spears' combining for 10. Again, the Longhorns added four blocks.
Set Four: Texas finished its first four set match of the season with a 25-18 set win. Vander Wal led the set with five kills and hit .444. Nya Bunton made her first appearance of the match and notched two kills a block. Alabama only recorded eight kills with a .097 hitting percentage.
Texas returns home to host Arkansas on Oct. 17 at 6:30 pm CT on SEC Network + and Oklahoma on Oct. 19 at 7:30 pm on ESPN.
