Men's Cross Country places fourth at Pre Nats behind Torres' personal best

Longhorn women finish 12th
Columbia, Mo. - The Texas men's cross country team posted another top five performance with its fourth-place finish at the Pre Nationals meet at Mizzou, scoring 183 points in the 8k. The women's team finished 12th in the 6k with 366 points.
The men were led by freshman Aidan Torres who set a personal best and finished 22nd overall with a time of 23:46.2. He shaved 20 seconds off his previous best time to continue his stellar freshman season. Senior Hudson Heikkinen was the second Longhorn to complete the event finishing 29th overall with a time of 23:52.3, narrowly beating his PB by .6 seconds. Seniors Nathanael Berhane and Tadgh Donnelly finished with times of 23:56.2 and 24:03.5, respectively. Donnelly set a new personal best eclipsing his previous best by seven seconds.
Junior Hudson Bennett finished with a time of 24:16.0, while senior Trey Rios crossed the line in 24:51.2 and sophomore Zain Hamdani finished with a time of 25:28.6.
The men finished in front of No. 22 Arkansas and No. 30 Loyola Chicago.
Senior Elizabeth Pickett led the Longhorns for a third consecutive meet with a time of 20:27.8 in the 6k finishing 40th overall. She was followed by sophomores Sydni Wilkins and Kaylin Rendon who crossed the line in 20:46.2 and 20:49.6, respectively. Rendon set a new personal best in the event by two and a half minutes. Senior Brighton Mooney and graduate transfer Annie Christie were the fourth and fifth Longhorns to complete the event with times of 20:54.7 and 21:17.
Freshman Lily Fawcett set a collegiate best in the 6k with a time of 21:28.0 followed by junior Aishling Callanan who finished in 21:31.6.
