Lauren Kim leads Texas with 1-under 70 in opening round.
STANFORD, Calif. — Following the first round of competition the Texas women's golf team is in 15th place after the opening round of the Stanford Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course on Friday.
The Longhorns carded a team score of 12-over 296 over the first 18 holes of the tournament. Host Stanford is on top of the team leaderboard after a round of 13-under-par.
Lauren Kim made six birdies on the day, including four on her second nine holes after starting on hole 10. Kim carded a score of 1-under 70 and is T15 on the individual leaderboard.
The Longhorns will start round two of the tournament tomorrow at 2:40 p.m. CT and will be paired with Oregon and UC Davis.
