No. 2 Volleyball's Spears earns fifth SEC Freshman of the Week honor

Spears leads conference in weekly SEC honors
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Volleyball's Cari Spears was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the fifth time this season, the conference announced.
Spears is the only player in the SEC to win a conference honor five times this season. The Frisco, Texas native recorded 16 kills in back-to-back road SEC matches, hitting .373 to help the Longhorns improve to 18-0 on the season. The right side hit .351 at Ole Miss and was one dig shy of a double-double.
She added a .400 attack percentage at LSU in the 3-0 sweep, along with four digs and one block. The freshman is averaging 4.75 kills per set and 4.79 points per set.
Spears' award marks the ninth-straight week a Longhorn has earned SEC Weekly honors and the 18th total honor.
