Longhorns finish in fourth place in final tournament of fall season.
KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII — The Texas women's golf team wrapped up the fall season with a fourth place finish at the Nanea Invitational on Wednesday.
Cindy Hsu earned her first collegiate win with tournament score of 10-under-par. Hsu was clutch when it counted the most as she birdied each of her final three holes of the round and earned co-medalist honors with Meja Ortengren of Stanford and Anna Davis of Auburn.
"I know I have to just play like myself to have a chance to win," Hsu said. "During the round, I was nervous, but I keep telling myself that I can do it and I just need to trust myself. I'm glad that I stayed present and the result turned out well. I'm just happy to have my first win and see my effort pay off."
The Longhorns shot 3-under as a team in the final round and finished in fourth place at 19-under-par for the tournament. The best round for Texas came in the second round when she shot 11-under to tie the best round of the day. The Longhorns were one of three teams in the field, who shot under par in each round of the tournament.

Head Coach Laura Ianello
"Cindy Hsu had a really strong finish. Her first college win at 10-under-par, especially with her birdie-birdie-birdie finish today. Farah O'Keefe finishing top-five and Lauren Kim just outside the top-10. Our team finished at 19-under-par. I think really solid golf was played. We need to continue to work on our mental fitness and finishing strong and do what we can to control our thoughts down the stretch. Fourth place wasn't our goal, but 19-under-par is a good tournament. Lots to take from this and we will continue to work hard this offseason and look forward to the future with this team."
