No. 2 Volleyball's Spears named SEC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time

Cari Spears leads the league with six total SEC weekly honors.
AUSTIN, Texas – Cari Spears has been named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Spears led Texas to two road sweeps over Georgia and Mississippi State averaging 4.75 points and 4.17 kills per set. The Frisco, Texas native hit .410 on a team-high 15 kills with three digs and a block and ace in Athens. She later helped the Longhorns improve to 12-0 on the season with 10 kills, seven digs and a career-high two aces against the Bulldogs.
Spears has now won the award four times this season and has also been named SEC Player of the Week twice, the most in any category combined in the conference. Texas has now won the Freshman of the Week award for five-straight weeks.
