Rori Harmon moved up to sixth all-time in steals in program history with five tonight.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 4 Texas (5-0) saw at least five players scoring double-digits for the fourth time this season as they rolled pass James Madison (3-3), 95-56, Wednesday at Moody Center. Senior Rori Harmon recorded her 11th career double-double with 11 points and 12 assists in the win.
Five Longhorns recorded double digits tonight. Madison Booker totaled team-leading 18 points, along with six rebounds, five assists, and six steals for Texas. Breya Cunningham followed with 17 points and game-leading eight rebounds. Sophomore Jordan Lee finished with 16 points, career-high six assists, and three rebounds in the win. Center Kyla Oldacre shot 80 percent from the field and notched 14 points, along with four rebounds and three steals against the Dukes.
The Texas defense forced James Madison into 29 turnovers and the Longhorns tallied a season-high 21 steals. The Longhorns tallied 29 assists with 11 turnovers for the game.
The Longhorns ended the opening quarter, 25-9, with a 9-0 scoring run over the final four minutes. The Texas defense forced 13 turnovers in the first quarter and converted 11 points off them. Kyla Oldacre and Madison Booker led in points with five each, and Rori Harmon, Teya Sidberry and Breya Cunningham followed with four each. Oldacre and Harmon also added three steals.
Texas ended the first half with a 48-22 lead over the Dukes, with Texas pushing an 8-0 run over 3:11 and forcing six turnovers. Lee scored a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, making her the leader at the half with 10 points. Harmon dished out six assists, contributing to a 13-assist total for the Longhorns.
The third quarter ended at 71-34 with a dominant 20-1 run over 5:09 by the Longhorns. Booker put up seven points in the period, with Cunningham and Aaliyah Crump adding an additional 12 points combined. Harmon contributed three assists, bringing her total to nine overall.
The game ended 95-56 for a Longhorn win. Oldacre led the period scoring with seven points for Texas. The Longhorns defense limited James Madison at 38.5 percent from the field and forced four turnovers in the final period of the game.
