Emma Halter leads Longhorns both on and off the court with work in the Austin community
AUSTIN, Texas – Emma Halter of the No. 3 Texas Volleyball program was named to the 2025 SEC Volleyball Community Service Team Presented by Allstate, the conference announced Thursday.
The senior libero walked in the Juneteenth Parade Celebrating the Emancipation of the Enslaved in Austin this past summer, interacting with local community members. She also took part in the Special Olympics Field Day, leading the athletes in backyard games.
When not on the court in Gregory Gym, Halter plays Chair Volleyball with assisted-living residents. In 2024, Halter worked with RISE to Vote, which offers voter registration, civic education and community engagement opportunities. She has served on the Texas SAAC Executive Board for the past two years, highlighted by her role as the Communications Coordinator during her senior year. She coordinated the annual Student-Athlete Holiday Party last December.
This year, she has been coordinating efforts for the Orange Santa fundraiser drive with student-athletes and is bringing back a "adoption tree" style gift-giving program for kids at Natural Language Processing (NLP) schools.
