Freshman Christasha McNeil will participate in singles competition in the NCAA qualifying tournament hosted in College Station.
College Station, Texas – Texas Women's Tennis freshman Christasha McNeil will participate in singles competition at the ITA Central Sectional Championships in College Station, Texas, starting Thursday.
McNeil will begin play at 10:30 a.m. CT against No. 79 Salakthip Ounmang of Oklahoma in the round of 32.
The event represents a chance for players to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships. A total of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams will be in the field. From the tournament, six singles players (semifinalists, two quarterfinal playoff winners) and three doubles teams (finalists, third place) will advance to the NCAA Championships.
The Central section encompasses the ITA Central, Midwest and Texas regions.
